Yarn Braids

Hello Brown Beautiful & Curvy

So as you know I have been natural for about 1year and 8 months. I am still loving it. Now winter is finally coming I am now going to start protective styling. About a week ago I put in some yarn braids. Yarn braids are individual braids that are braid with yarn. Yes you read that right yarn. Instead of using braiding hair I used yarn. They kinda look like dreads. It took me a whole week to do them. My goal is to keep them in till February or longer. I plan to retouch as needed. I am going keep them moisturizes with Shea Moisture curl mist and also use coconut oil. I am going try to figure out a way to wash my hair. I will come back with a update on how I did that. Shea Moisture Product Review

Today I have a product review for you. For 2 weeks I have been using products from the Shea Moisture skin line. The products I have been using are Coconut & Hibiscus Brighting & Toning soap bar and 100% Organic Shea Butter infused with Coconut and Hibiscus Brighting & Toning moisturizer. I can tell a big difference in my skin. My skin is feels smooth, soft and starts to look even and toned. I am so excited.

Let me just give you the break down of my skin issues. I have always had acne prone skin. My skin will break out like crazy. Then my skin will clear up for a while. Then the next thing I know my skin will have a field day and break out everywhere. But mostly on my cheeks. I have tried everything under the sun. What ever I tried my skin will clear up for a while. Then break out like crazy. After I googled different products and looking on YouTube. I finally found something that will keep my outbreaks under control. That is Africa black soap. But I had acne scars. I was walking around Target one day in the beauty section and saw Shea Moisture. I use Shea Moisture for my hair and it works great it would not hurt to try it on my face. So I pick up the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Brighting & Toning bar and moisturizer. This is a life saver. My scars have fade out alot. The scars are not as dark on my skin and my skin has even out alot. Will give both products A+. The soap bar gives a great lather and it smells really good. The moisturizer is made with Shea butter so if you ever felt Shea butter then you know is a little hard and but once you rub you finger over it. It will start to warm up and melt on your finger. It is a nice thick moisturizer and it smells good also. These products are 100% all natural.

Missoni Comes To Target!!!

MISSONI IS COMING TO TARGET TODAY!!!

I am excited about this collection. I am going to check it out this weekend if it is not sold out. I just love the colors and the zig zag pattern. Here are some pics of the collection. I know the Target website crash today because so many people were trying to get on. Let me know what you think about the collection.

UPDATE: For all my people that are from Durham, NC. I went to the Target on University Dr. and the Missoni collection is sold out. All they had were a little selection for the little girls and some of the shoes left and I also saw 2 mens sweaters. But the womens collection is sold out. I ask if they were going to restock the collection but she was not sure. I am going to check the Target by Southpoint Mall this weekend. I also ask the Target teammate if they recieved alot of pieces but she was off that yesterday so she did not know.

But I will keep you posted.

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!!

I hope everyone had a great Labor day weekend. I had a great one. I celebrated my godson birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEANDRE!!!  His party was a place called TK Jungle. It is a kids paradise. It is a room full bounce house. My favorite is the slide (the kid in me). It was a great party and my kids had some much fun. Then I went to my boyfriend's aunt house for a cookout and my cousin invited her friend. My cousin is like a little sister to me so I had to see who was occupying her time. He was a nice young man. He had all of his stuff together. I really like that. So Can Can if you are reading this I APPROVE!!! LOL!!! I also got my rest in. So I had a great weekend. I hope everyone had a great and safe weekend.

DIY Basketball Wives Earrings

If you are a reality head like me then you might watch the show Basketball Wives on vh1. Then you would know Jennifer and Evelyn have a great taste in accessories. I really like the earrings that they wear. The earrings they are wear are made by POParazzi. So I decide to make my own pair. So I went to this store called Rare Earth Beads. This store has every kind of bead you can think of in different colors,shapes, texture. If can't find in Michael's you can find in here. I knew what I was look for so I went straight that section. I really did not look around that much. Because I had my son with me and lil two year old do not belong in this store for long period of time. He will start touching everything. Here is what I use:

1. A pair of plain silver hoops

2. 24 Swarovski Rondelle Beads

This project was very easy. All you need is a pair of hoop earring. I just use a pair of my silver hoops and slide the bead onto the hoop. I put 12 beads on each earring. Then you can always take the beads off when you want to wear a plain hoop again. This is a great way to add a extra pop to a plain pair of hoops

The Weekend Is Here

This has been a long week but I am glad it is over. As I type this my weekend has started. I am doing nothing. Until my kids ask  me to go somewhere. LOL!! But I have some rants to get off my chest.

Rant #1

Why do grown adults do not believe in wearing deodorant. One day at work this week 3 people came to my teller window smelling like hot trash on a hot summer day. OMG!!! If you are going to be out in public around people you don't know or you might know them PLEASE BE KIND AND PUT ON SOME DEODORANT.

Rant #2 Part 1

What happen to people having manners? I work at a bank so all day I ask people how are they doing? Most of the time I get a response back and a little conversation. But I had a couple of people this week who did not respond back. I just got the look of a blank stare. I KNOW YOU SEE MY MOUTH MOVING AND I AM LOOKING DEAD AT YOU.  Can I get a response back. GEESH!! I AM ONLY TRYING TO BE NICE.

Rant #2 Part 2

I was leaving from taking my son to school one morning and I held the door for someone and she walk threw without saying thank you. DANG!!! I HELD THE DOOR FOR YOU. CAN I GET A THANK YOU!!! I could have let the door close in your face then I would have got a crazy face back. How hard is it to be POLITE!!! OMG!!! I think the world would be a whole lot nicer if peole would say Please, Thank You and Excuse Me.

August Is Here Already!!

I can't believe it is August already. The summer is flying by. But I know the heat is here to stay for a while. Well I hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a great one. I really did not do anything this weekend. That's what made it the best. But I wish it was a little bit longer. : )! I have chose my favorite celeb look of the week but this for last week.  

My favorite look was June Ambrose. I love her style. She is a style icon. This is a great choice to wear to a day party and even hanging out with friends. She add a great pop to the outfit by wearing a color lip. A great way to spice it up.  What do you think?

My Hair Feels Amazing!!!!

I wash my hair yesterday and today it feels amazing. This is the best it ever felt after I wash it. First on dry hair I put Yes To Carrots conditioner in and detangle my hair. Then I add Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque and massage that in with the Yes To Carrots conditioner. After that I wash all of that out and then I wash my hair with Lisa Rachel Conditioner & Cleanser with Argan Oil. After washing my getting all the product I put a couple pumps of Lisa Rachel Conditioner & Cleanser with Argan Oil in my hair as a leave in conditioner and I also put in some argan oil. Then I twist my hair in two strand twist with Curl Smoothing smoothie and eco styler gel with olive oil. I took down the twist with cocount oil and my hair felt amazing. My twist did not come out like I like it but I don't mine. Because my feels great.

Beauty Supply Store Trip

Today me and my cousin Candace went to the big beauty world. Where I am from there is a beauty supply store that is the size of a grocey store. You can find everything in there. So we decide to make a trip today. I went to check out some weaving hair that I am interesting in getting for a sewing in the future and also check out the wigs and makeup. The hair I am interesting in getting is Prestige One Alco Remy hair. So if you ladies know anything about this hair please let me know. I also tried on a wig by Vanessa and it is call Miko. I have check her out on youtube before but I never had the chance to tried it on. I FELL IN LOVE WITH HER. I am going to get her. She is so cute. But what I purchased was LA Pro Concealer in HD, RubyKisses Set n' Forget HD setting powder in invisible, Lisa Rachel Conditioner & Cleanser with Argan Oil and a cocoa butter stick. I will do a review on the Lisa Rachel Conditioner & Cleanser with Argan Oil. On the bottle it says it is just like Wen. But I will see.

Dallas is Coming Back

GUESS WHAT????

DALLAS IS COMING BACK ON!!!!!! I can't believe it. I remember my mom watching Dallas when I was a child. I remember the women having bold makeup and really big shoulders pads in there outfits. The men wore cowboy hats and jeans. If you don't remember Dallas or you were just to young. Dallas was a soap opera based in Texas around a wealthy Texas family in the oil and cattle-ranching industries. I remember some of the characters like JR Ewing. I take that back. That is the only character I remember. LOL!!

Me and my sister from another mother Candace went to the Curly Nikki Farewell natural hair meetup in Raleigh at the Mosaic Wine Lounge. It was alot of beautiful natural hair ladies there. Everybody hair was so beautiful. This was my first natural hair meetup and I had a great time.I did not get there in time for the gift bags but I did get a free tote.
